First Deployment: applications are due no later than March 27, 2018.

Eligibility Requirements
Cadets who meet the criteria laid out below are encouraged to apply for one of the two RCN deployments to be held on the following dates: 
  • First Deployment: April 9-13, 2018.
  • Second Deployment: April 16-19, 2018. 
In order to be eligible to participate in this deployment, a cadet must meet or exceed the following prerequisites:
a. have attained the age of 16 years but not 19 before returning home on completion;
b. phase 4 qualified from the Corps program;
c. hold the minimum rank of PO2;
d. have successfully completed any 6 week course or Staff Cadet employment;
e. be fluent in English, which signifies an excellent understanding of the language and an ability to express one's self in it;
f. be mature, and considered to be a credit to the Sea Cadet Organization;
g. may require a valid passport that will not expire within the next 6 months; and
h. be highly recommended for this deployment by all levels in the chain of command.

 
A cadet must also be free of any medical participation limitations, ailment, condition (physical or psychological) or injury:
a. which requires or may require that he/she, even in rare or unusual circumstances, be taken to a medical facility or treated by medical personnel;
b. which requires or may require that he/she takes medication or inhalers of any kind;
c.  which will or may prevent him/her from completing the training and performing assigned duties;
d.  which will or may prevent him/her from living and/or working in conditions associated with life aboard a tall ship at sea for extended periods of time;
e. which will or may prevent him/her from going aloft, hulling on heavy sheets, and carrying heavy gear and climbing up masts on a regular basis;
f. which will or may prevent him/her from going into confined areas (galley, bunk and passageway) and fitting through tight openings (hatches, ladders and doors); and
g. which will or may prevent him/her from comprehending orders and directions, sometimes in an emergency situation, and quickly reacting to them.
