The Aim of the Cadet ProgramThe aim of the Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership; promote physical fitness; and stimulate an interest in the sea, land and air activities of the Canadian Forces.
What Do We Do?The Corps Program is central to the overall foundation that Sea cadets require to undertake the other components of the program. It focuses on giving all Sea cadets instruction and opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in a variety of subject areas while also introducing them to specialized activities.
The Sea Cadet Corps Program is primarily focused on maritime activities derived from the Canadian Navy and the civilian maritime community. It is comprised of the following established Sea cadet activities as well as activities common to the Sea, Army and Air cadet programs: Sea Cadet Activites: Seamanship/Rope Work; Sailing; Small Craft Operations; Ship Operations; and Royal Canadian Navy and Civilian Maritime Community Familiarization Common Cadet Activites: General Cadet Knowledge; Drill & Ceremonial; Leadership; Instructional Techniques; Community Service; Cultural education/Travel; Citizenship; Personal fitness and Healthy living; Recreational sports; Air Rifle Marksmanship; Biathlon; Music - Military Band; and Positive Social Relations for Youth Training |
