HMCS ORIOLE GREAT
LAKES DEPLOYMENT 2019

Cadets are invited to apply for training deployments aboard HMCS ORIOLE. There are 5 deployments planned with tentative dates of:
Serial 1 from June 17 - 27, 2019 (Rimouski to Toronto); Serial 2 from July 8 - 19, (Buffalo to Windsor); Serial 3 from August 12 - 23, (Midland to Kingston); Serial 4 from August 26 - September 4 (Kingston to Montreal); and Serial 5 from August 12 - September 4 (Midland to Montreal) Interested trainee cadets must meet the following criteria: - Be 14 to 17 years old; - Have successfully completed phase 2 training; - Have successfully completed a 3 week cadet summer training course; - Meet medical and participation limitations; - be functional in English; and - Be recommended by the Commanding Officer. Cadets who qualify are also invited to apply for the role of Support Cadets for each of the above-noted deployments . Cadets interested in applying as support cadets must meet the following criteria: - Be at least 16 years old (and not age out during deployment); - Have successfully completed phase 4; - Have successfully completed a 6 week cadet summer training course; - Meet medical and participation limitations; - Have preferably completed the Boatswain Mates course of have tall ship experience; - Language: Phase 1 and 2: preferably bilingual, and Phase 3: English only; - Have prior senior cadet (divisional or group) leadership experience; and - Be recommended by the Commanding Officer. All applications must be submitted no later than end of day on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. |
